About Us

Mukut is named after the sacred masks of Nepal, worn by dancers, priests, and storytellers to embody gods, demons, and ancestral legends. These are not costumes. They are living vessels of faith, memory, and cultural knowledge. We started Mukut to honour that legacy not as something frozen in the past, but as a tradition that continues to evolve.

We are Nepali founders based in the UK, shaped by both our Himalayan roots and diasporic journeys. Mukut is our way of reconnecting with our heritage and sharing it with care, offering pieces that carry meaning beyond aesthetics.

At the heart of our store are meaningful objects. Prints of traditional thangkas that preserve the sacred artistry of Buddhist lineages, and reimagined deity forms printed on clothing and bags that accompany you in daily life. Each design is created with intention, sourced thoughtfully, and grounded in real stories. Nothing is exoticised. Nothing is diluted.

This is only the beginning. As we grow, we will work directly with artists, artisans, and cultural caretakers. Our aim is to honour origins while creating space for cultural expression to continue, especially for those of us who live between worlds.

Mukut is for those who see culture as something to engage with, not just consume. If you are here, you already understand. These are not just products. They are continuations.
